Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Dave the Evil Cat ("Dave", "the bot") and its web dashboard at davidthecattery.cc collect, and how that data is used. Dave runs as a bot in a single home server, The Blanket Fort (where it acts as that server's universal helper) and as a user-installed app that individual users can install to their own Discord account. Dave cannot be added to any other server.

1. Data Collected

To operate, Dave may store Discord IDs (user, server, channel, message) needed for its features, message content required for specific features such as antiraid detection, moderation logging, or automod, custom-role and verification data submitted through Dave's commands, and moderation records such as warnings, bans, or blacklist entries.

When Dave is installed to your account as a user app, commands you run through it elsewhere may send Dave the relevant command input and your Discord ID, so it can respond — the same as any other Discord app you install to your account.

Dave does not read or store messages beyond what its home server's admins have enabled through its features.

2. Data Collected Through the Web Dashboard

When you log in to the dashboard with Discord, Dave receives your Discord username, ID, and avatar via Discord's OAuth2 login, used only to identify you and determine your access level within the dashboard. Dave does not receive or store your Discord password.

3. How Data Is Used

Collected data is used to provide and improve Dave's features, run its antiraid and moderation systems, power custom-role and verification commands, and display information back to authorized users through the dashboard.

Data is never sold, and is not shared with third parties except where required to operate a specific feature or where required by law.

4. Data Retention

Data is retained for as long as it's needed to provide the relevant feature, or until you remove Dave from your account or leave its home server, at which point your data may be deleted.

5. Your Choices

You can uninstall Dave from your account, or leave its home server, at any time. You can ask about, or request deletion of, data associated with your account by contacting Dave's admins in The Blanket Fort, Dave's home Discord server.

6. Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect stored data, including restricted access to the underlying database and encrypted credentials where applicable.

7. Children's Privacy

Dave is not intended for use by anyone under Discord's minimum age requirement (13, or higher where required by local law).

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Dave after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
